Hurricane Florence

Governor Northam has ordered a mandatory evacuation of low-lying areas in Zone A.  The order will take effect at 8:00 AM Tuesday morning.

While the exact track of Hurricane Florence is still uncertain, Virginia will see significant impacts from this storm including flooding, high winds, and potential storm surges.

National Hurricane Center provides updates regarding hurricanes at 5:00 am, 11:00 am, 5:00 pm, and 11:00 pm each day. They will also provide updates at more regular intervals if there is a drastic change.


Family Emergency Communication Plan

Stay tuned to local media in the coming days to keep close tabs on Hurricane Florence as it approaches the Commonwealth. Be prepared to take action and know that storm forecast can change very quickly from hour to hour!
